Krzysztof Kieslowski Archives online:

09 December 2015

On December 27th, 2015 The Krzysztof Kieślowski Archive website was launched.
As part of the page we will publish a database of resources found in TKKA in Sokołowsko, digitized archival materials, as well as information about the director related to his life and work.

We make available a selection of photographs, audiovisual materials and a database of the collection, mainly texts and documents of the brilliant author, which are compiled, maintained and archived in TKKA headquarters in Sokołowsko.

The page serves as a database of knowledge about the brilliant author. Future projects, including compiling archives and further digitization will allow us to publish the next batch of archival materials.

Ultimately, we will make available original manuscripts of Krzysztof Kieślowski, compiled in 2015 – scripts, storyboards, short stories and ideas for films, including those which have not been realized.

The Krzysztof Kieślowski Archive is a public archive. The resources where provided from the home archive of Maria Kieślowska, the wife of the director who left us too soon (1996).

TKKA was established in 2011. A part of the resources located on the site was subject to archival and digitization work done in 2013 as part of the „Archiwistyka Społeczna” program of the National Audiovisual Institute. Current work is possible thanks to funding by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

TKKA partners are the Film School in Lodz, Krzysztof Kieślowski Faculty of Radio and Television
University of Silesia in Katowice, the Film Museum, TOR Film Production and Wydawnictwo Skorpion.

The archive was created by the Contemporary Art Foundation In Situ, that for the last five years has been organizing The Sokołowsko Film Festival Hommage a Kieślowski. Sokołowsko is a historical health resort town, where Krzysztof Kieślowski spent part of his childhood.

We invite you to make use of the website, and we encourage you to share your remarks. If you have information concerning the materials in our database, or are in possession of archival materials relating to the director, we encourage you to contact us through the web-form “Build the Archives with us” located on the main page.
